I just want to take a moment to thank all of you for these great stories. As you probably know, a fair bit has been written about my father, often by people who were more interested in a 'character' than in the person. I know the names here, and I know these stories, and although he could play things pretty close to the chest sometimes, I hope you know how highly he thought of all of you. Sadly, my own children will never meet my parents, both of whom have long since passed away, but your recollections of them here are a real treasure, and it's great to see how fondly Father is remembered after all these years. I grew up thinking, as he taught me, that the Warden Service was one of the finest organizations in Canada, and it's an opinion I still hold. Thanks for proving that to me once again and for remembering him here.

Best wishes,
Dr. Douglas W. Hayes
