I was one of the Not so silent partners of Warden Don Waters for 25 years. Don and I parted ways in 2006 and he found love again with another former Parks Canada employee Sue Baker. They had 17 years together. Don became ill with Alzheimer’s in about 2019 and Sue with help from friends took care of him. On April 12th Sue organized a celebration of life for Don in Banff. His family attended from Ontario along with numerous x and working Wardens. I was touched by the feeling of warmth and caring at the celebration. It was like a warden reunion. This warden family, the Sunshine friends and many other friends came to show appreciation for Don who was a caring, kind and fun loving man. I’m so proud to have once been a part of the Warden family.

Clayon Rubec shows a paper day pass permit ca. 1923, it could be worth checking out. You will find his report online, if you google, "Ninety Years of Canada’s National Parks Motor Vehicle Licences, 1923 to 2013" it is on a page hosted by the British North America Philatelic Society

I grew up with Tom Elliot as neighbourhood kids on Elmwood Cresent. We played street hockey, football etc. all hours of the day.
We were fierce competitors and quickly developed a reputation as the Elmwood "hackers" and took on all competition that came our way. Tom always demonstrated leadership and it is no surprise that he made his made on the world!
