I was one of the Not so silent partners of Warden Don Waters for 25 years. Don and I parted ways in 2006 and he found love again with another former Parks Canada employee Sue Baker. They had 17 years together. Don became ill with Alzheimer’s in about 2019 and Sue with help from friends took care of him. On April 12th Sue organized a celebration of life for Don in Banff. His family attended from Ontario along with numerous x and working Wardens. I was touched by the feeling of warmth and caring at the celebration. It was like a warden reunion. This warden family, the Sunshine friends and many other friends came to show appreciation for Don who was a caring, kind and fun loving man. I’m so proud to have once been a part of the Warden family.
