Tom, great article with timely advice. I currently have a claim in with Manitoba WCB for hearing loss. Here are a couple of important points that I am experiencing with my claim.
1. Make a clain earlier rather than wait years like a I did. Waiting puts doubt in the mind of WCB adjudicators whether/why you waited so long.
2, As you mentioned , if retirees or current staff haven't asked for Health Canada records, do so asap, especially the Health Nurses yearly hearing tests ( that were part of our yearly medicals).
3, If you are near retirement or not, ensure you have or obtain some form of employment proof from Parks Canada or other employers ( on your own search). The state of PC's retirement recors is deplorable. Manitoba WCB and Riding Mountain HR staff had no idea where personell retirement records could be located !
4. Many wardens worked in different proviinces over the years and suffered incremental hearing loss. However WCB will only accept your claim for the Province that you currently reside in. So, even though some of my loss ocurred in other Parks, I can only claim a loss in Manitoba. Obviously much more work and wait if you want to pursue multiple claims.
5. My experience ( and scutlebut form others ) is that WCB takes a long time to make decisions and often appeals are required. So be prepared for a long struggle perhaps.

Happy Hearing everyone. And Seasons Greetings.
