Today we received the tragic news that Dave Norcross has passed away. A few days ago Dave suffered a massive stroke from which there was no recovery. Dave’s daughter Jamie is in New Zealand and has expressed the following words:
My amazing father passed away peacefully this afternoon (Sept 5th, 2021).
He is now soaring in the clouds skiing endless powder. ♥️
I have my flight booked home for the 7th of October, unfortunately the soonest I’m able to come home as the Canadian government requires that I’m fully vaccinated.
I have not only lost my dad today, I’ve lost my best friend and skiing buddy. I have my partners beautiful family here for support which is been such a blessing.
I’m looking forward to being home and would love to get all the ol’ wardens together so we can share all the amazing memories of my dad.
Xx

Jamie has been included in the Park Warden Service Alumni Facebook page where many condolences and memories of Dave are being shared.
Our sincere condolences to Angie and Jamie at this very sad time.
A confident, competent, ‘git ‘er done’ kinda guy. Dave’s recently-posted interview was a narrative masterpiece of insight and experience, revealing that much more remained to be mined, of this man and his times. We thought we had the time.
