Obituary for Geraldine Kraft
KRAFT
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts we say goodbye to a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. Geraldine usually known as “Gerry” was born in Bremner, Alberta on September 16, 1927 and passed away on February 27, 2018 at the age of 90 years. Gerry went to school in Uncus. When she was done school, she proceeded with nursing school in Calgary. After graduating from nursing school she worked at the Olds Hospital, where she met Fred. They got married January 3rd, 1949. In August that same year they welcomed their first child Linda, then Freida in 1952. Fred and Gerry saw many places together as Fred was as a park warden. Some of the places included, Banff National Park and Glacier Nation Park. In 1957, they moved to a farm north of Sundre, where they raised their family. She refreshed her nursing courses and went back to work in 1968 at the hospital in Sundre. Gerry had many interests, such as making rock and gem jewellery, crochet, quilting, curling, square dancing, baking wedding and birthday cakes through the years, being with her farm animals, reading, as well as being part of the United Church and the Nurse’s Aide. In later years, she enjoyed her great grandchildren, Cody, Wyatt, Kade and CJ. Gerry will be lovingly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband Fred; parents Charles and Carrie; brothers David and Jim; sister Doreen. She will be lovingly remembered with smiles for the memories she left us to hold and cherish forever.
