MRS. RETA FLORENCE DAVIES
Reta Florence Davies, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Victoria Hospital, at the age of 82 years. Reta was born on February 17, 1931 to Mary and Arthur Tait. Reta took great pride in her family, which was most important to her. Reta lived and went to school in the Donnybrook and MacDowall Districts. On October 2, 1954, she married Ronald Davies at St. Alban’s Cathedral in Prince Albert. They spent the early years of their marriage in the Prince Albert National Park, later moving to Alingly where Reta operated the Alingly Store and Post Office until 1983. They then spent a number of years at Fort Chipewyan, AB, Fort Simpson, NWT, and Fort McMurray, AB. They came home to Alingly in the late 90’s, where they resided until moving to Prince Albert in 2013. Reta is survived by her husband Ron Davies; her children Colleen (Denis) Harmatiuk, Milton (Elizabeth) Davies; her grandchildren Zach, Hayden, Colby, Callie, Tyler, Cody, Luke, Tait, Amber, Jade, Travis, Lacey, Cassie; her great-grandchild Owen; her sisters Gladys Johnston and Iolene Halcro; her brother Alvin Tait; her sisters-in-law Dorothy Tait, Irene Tait, Shirley Tait; her brother-in-law Leonard Davies. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Arthur Tait; her children Lyle, Beverley and Mark; her brothers William, Arnold, Colin, Lesley; her sister Doris Cook; her sisters-in-law Lil Tait, Melva Tait; her brothers-in-law Homer Johnston, Lloyd Halcro., Richard Cook. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 8 from St. Alban’s Cathedral, 1410 Bishop McLean Crescent, with The Very Reverend Kenneth Davis officiating. Donations in memory of Reta may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Interment of cremated remains will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Prince Albert. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director.
