Rob had an extensive background in working and living in the backcountry or in isolated places so the change of lifestyle from the town of Banff to living and working at the Ya Ha Tinda Ranch was seamless and a natural transition for him. This transition started on January 7th, 1999 and ended when Rob officially retired on January 7th, 2022 after 23 years of service.   That’s a lot of kilometers on the back of a horse!

On April 21st the Banff Park Field Unit hosted a gathering of Rob’s friends and colleagues for a retirement party in Banff. The evening was well attended with a barbecue followed by presentations. Congratulations Rob!

Rob and Susan live on their ranch near Bergen where Rob continues to enjoy the life of a horse trainer, and has resumed his passion for roping.
