2nd Annual Park Warden Camping Reunion (Tuesday September 5 – 7, 2023)

Last year’s successful event hosted 45+ campers at Nanton, and marked the beginning of a new Park Warden tradition. This year, at Salmon Arm BC, it’s expected even more Warden alumni and friends will travel from afar to participate in 3 days of friendship, story-telling and making new connections among other Warden alumni and their “not-so-silent partners”. The 2023 reunion will be held at the beautiful Salmon Arm Elks Campground; located on the edge of town among giant ponderosa pine – and with the added advantages of hook-ups (for those who need them) and a large open-air kitchen shelter. We’ll follow the informal format used last year, with optional communal meals and evening socials.  

To participate arrive on Tuesday, September 05 and depart Thursday September 07, but stay longer if you wish. The Elks Campground is easily accessible, and located on the NE edge of Salmon Arm at 3690 – 30th  Street NE. This is 2.2 km. due north of the Trans-Canada Highway junction with 30th Street NE (i.e., intersection with Tim Horton’s and McDonalds.

We have reserved the entire campground. It has 21 fully serviced sites ($40.00/night) and an additional 35+ sites ($20/night) for dry camping with tents or trailers, or electrical service. There are newly renovated washrooms and showers, and a deluxe roofed shelter with picnic tables, and a full kitchen for group dining and socializing.  Regarding meals, we’ve planned to order take-out pizza on Tuesday evening, hold a “Pot Luck” dinner on Wednesday, and prepare a pancake breakfast on Thursday morning. Participants are on their own for other meals but the coffee pot will be on 24-7. Please be “green” and bring your own dishes and utensils, and lawn chair too.   

For those who do not want to camp there are numerous local hotels. We recommend the Salmon Arm Fairfield Inn and Suites; It is only 5 minutes away, and has kindly set aside a block of rooms (at a competitive discounted rate of $161/night, tax extra) for people identifying as being part of the Park Warden Alumni Reunion. For reservations, call them at (778) 489-0555 ASAP, but no later than August 03.

Fees will be collected on-site.
