This is a little clip from my Christmas present to my Dad.I have been bugging the National Film Board of Canada for about a year and a half to digitize this film and they finally did it a couple of months ago. This was in shot the summer before I was born.It was filmed in the backcountry of Jasper National Park in the area that my sister and I were raised in. I want thank my Dad for giving a spirit of adventure and for my Mom for being brave enough to raise her kids in the middle of nowhere.Now, you can drive into Maligne on a paved road, but back then it was quite a journey, especially in winter time. I love the part where the where the narrator talks about not being able to make a phone call – it is still true – unless you have a sat phone!
