Katrina Pyne contacted the information desk at Parks Canada’s national office in Gatineau last March. She was interested in doing a magazine story about the history of women working as park wardens. I helped her out as much as I could and put her in touch with Kathy Calvert who, of course, knows more about that story than any of us. Katrina’s story evolved into the more general article about park wardens that Don Mickle posted here. I will make one correction to the text. I was a park warden for 27 years and I did work at Glacier National Park (it was my first posting in 1981). I did not, however, work at Glacier for 27 years!
