Greetings and best of the New Year to everyone who might be interesting the 2026 Reunion of the Park Warden Service Alumni Society!

On behalf of the Park Warden Service Alumni board of directors, we’re sending this early notice with hopes that you will attend this year and, also reach out to other Park colleagues who have not, to encourage them to participate for the first time. All will agree… it is a great time!

Since the reunion’s inception several years ago, this camping-centered event has grown and evolved to accommodate participation by more of our members and associates, all towards maintaining the comradery and friendships built throughout so many overlapping careers spent in the service of our National Parks. We’ve had attendees from Parks in the north, east, west and south – and are seeking to broaden that participation.

This year’s reunion is the fourth since 2019, and it will be a very special one. We have switched to a 4-day format (May 5 – 8) to accommodate the needs of travellers, as well as a full-on concert by the award-winning band, “The Wardens” (Scott Ward, Ray Schmidt, and Scott Duncan) to be held on the evening of Thursday, May 7. They have kindly volunteered to include a 2-hour benefit concert (for the PWSAS) into their busy touring schedule. All reunion events, including the concert, will be held among the towering ponderosa pines at the beautiful Salmon Arm Elk’s Hall and Campground. As always, there will be plenty of free time for socializing too.

Rain or shine – we’ll be comfortable, as this campground features large landscaped gathering areas and a huge roofed shelter, with tables and a kitchen, to host all of our planned meals and activities. For non-campers there are a wide range of Salmon Arm hotels and motels located within 5 – 10 minutes of the Elk’s Campground. Currently, we are pursuing motel discounts for alumni. See the Reunion Poster for details, or contact us. For those of you on a tight schedule, arrival and departure dates are flexible.

No matter which route you travel towards Salmon Arm, there are many provincial, private, and National Park campgrounds to take advantage of. Please consider making the reunion a stop in your holiday plans.

We are looking forward to seeing you again and to meeting many new alumni faces at the Elk’s Campground in Salmon Arm May 5th– 8th.

Let’s keep rekindling old friendships and memorable stories! Contact us now, by phone or e-mail, to indicate your interest, to reserve a suitable campsite, and to ensure your participation in this year’s reunion. Please pass this information along to others!

Sincerely, your reunion hosts,

Alan and Lisa Westhaver
