Many of you may recall Herve′ from the years he worked for Banff National Park Warden Service on the horse supported Warden (Service) Remote Area Trail Crew. Herve′ was from France and came to Canada as a young man where he enjoyed the mountains and especially the backcountry of Banff National Park. He made many friends during his years in Banff National Park. Herve′ started with Parks Canada about 1982 and worked seasonally on Trail Crew until the early to mid 1990s. Bob Fuhrer and Herve′ spent many long days on the trails cutting out fallen timber, cutting firewood and completing many other tasks associated with the job. His saddle horse was “Kipper” and he had many interesting stories to tell about Kipper’s antics. He and his saddle horse were well suited to one another.
